Paddington Art Prize 2019
We Do Not Belong on Mars comments on the current climate struggles, specifically the concepts of moving the human race to Mars in a bid to save our existence.
The painting is rich with symmetry and symbolism to represent the cycles of life and evolution, and to illustrate a sense of utopian splendour within this planet which we are symbiotically connected to.
The kaleidoscopic sensitivities reveal hidden narratives which nod to the mythical concepts surrounding creation; the sequence of which spills to a complex land of tremendous vitality. This is juxtaposed by the visually layered metaphorical representation of the supernatural.
