Early Works (2024 — 2025)
Joanna Wolthuizen
Early Works (2024 — 2025) mark the formative expansion of Composed Abstraction™ — where colour, structure, and atmosphere begin to organise space as lived experience rather than image
Across the Vivid and Lighthouse bodies of work, geometry shifts between energy and orientation. Saturation becomes rhythm; light becomes signal. Planes of colour suggest horizon, shelter, and movement, while maintaining the disciplined stillness that defines Wolthuizen’s evolving language.
Rather than describing landscape or architecture directly, the compositions evoke a felt sense of direction — the tension between motion and calm, distance and intimacy, emergence and return.
Together, these works reveal the threshold of a practice in transition: where colour carries light, structure gathers meaning, and abstraction opens toward the spatial quiet that will define the monumental works to follow.
